Tesla Model 3 Review: the best EV on the market?

Tesla Model 3 Review: the best EV on the market?

In the realm of electric vehicles (EVs), Tesla has undeniably become a trailblazer, and the Model 3 is one of its brightest stars. Launched in 2017, the Tesla Model 3 has taken the automotive industry by storm, offering an exceptional blend of performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology. In this blog post, we'll explore what makes the Tesla Model 3 a revolutionary electric car and how it has transformed the perception of EVs.

I'm a fan of Tesla's! The Model S took the EV market by surprise and set a very high benchmark for manufacturers all across the globe. What Tesla has done for the automotive industry in such short time is unparralelled. Even now, years into the world EV, other manufacturers are still chasing Tesla and have no sign of catching up anytime soon.

From the moment you lay eyes on the Model 3, its sleek and minimalist design captivates the imagination. With clean lines, absence of a traditional grille, and a panoramic glass roof, the Model 3 oozes modernity and elegance. Tesla's attention to aerodynamics is evident, contributing to its remarkable range and efficiency. The flush door handles, smooth underbody, and optimized airflow result in a remarkable drag coefficient that maximizes energy efficiency. The 'mini' Model S is a perfect mid-sized car for most families.

Electrifying Performance

The Tesla Model 3 is no slouch in terms of performance. With multiple variants available, including the Standard Range Plus, Long Range, and Performance models, drivers can choose the one that suits their preferences. The Performance variant, in particular, is a force to be reckoned with, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds. The instant torque delivery from its electric motors delivers an exhilarating driving experience that's unmatched by most traditional internal combustion engine cars. Tesla still sets itself apart with their performance figures. It would take a very expensive BMW or Audi EV to keep up, let alone beat the Model 3.

Range and Charging Infrastructure

Range anxiety is a common concern for EV drivers, but Tesla has addressed this issue with the Model 3. The Long Range model can cover over 300 miles on a single charge, making it more than suitable for daily commuting and long-distance journeys. Additionally, Tesla's extensive Supercharger network allows for rapid charging, reducing charging times and making long-distance travel more practical and convenient. For many owners, the access to that network is by far one of the most important features.

Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capabilities

One of Tesla's most celebrated features is its Autopilot system, which provides advanced driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, and automatic lane changes. Tesla continues to push the boundaries of autonomous driving with its Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities, promising a future where the Model 3 can navigate complex urban environments and perform parking maneuvers without driver intervention. Depending on the country you live in, self-driving cars still don't have the necessary legal permits.

Intuitive Infotainment and interior design

The Tesla Model 3's infotainment system is a class apart, featuring a large central touchscreen that controls almost all aspects of the car. This user-friendly interface allows drivers to access navigation, media, climate control, and vehicle settings with ease. Tesla's over-the-air software updates also bring new features and improvements, ensuring that the Model 3 stays ahead of the curve.

Although it's intuitive and user-friendly, it still takes time to get used to having everything in that center screen. The way Tesla goes about this is different from what we're used to seeing in a car. I personally would like more buttons and easily accessible features that don't take my eyes off the road all the time. But if you consider Tesla's view on cars, it all makes sense. Because ... in the future you wouldn't be driving yourself, would you? And I appreciate that futureproof thinking.

And there are plenty of features to play with. The user interface of Tesla is arguably one of the most advanced onces out there.

The interior is very simplistic, as per Tesla's habit. Depending on your preference that's either a big pro, or a big con. If anything, the cabin is spacious and comfortable. It's a relaxing and nice place to sit on long journeys. If you can benefit from the self-driving features of the car, it all makes sense too. The finish, however, is not on par with that of the German counterparts. Overall built quality if fine, but there's still some work to do in order to catch up with the more luxurious brands on the market.

Safety and Reputation

Safety is a paramount consideration for any car, and the Model 3 boasts impressive safety ratings and features. With its rigid body structure, advanced driver-assistance systems, and eight airbags, the Model 3 has earned top safety accolades from various agencies worldwide. Tesla's constant focus on safety has contributed to its reputation as a leader in the EV industry.

Conclusion

The Tesla Model 3 has already redefined the electric vehicle landscape, proving that EVs can be practical, high-performing, and technologically advanced. Even after several years its combination of futuristic design, electrifying performance, long-range capabilities, and innovative features has won the hearts of countless drivers worldwide. As Tesla continues to push the boundaries of automotive innovation, the Model 3 serves as a shining example of what the future of driving can be. Whether you're an EV enthusiast or a curious driver, the Tesla Model 3 undoubtedly deserves a spot on your radar as a revolutionary car that has changed the game. Mainly because it's very affordable for an EV. You can stellar performance for just a fraction of the price. Who wouldn't want that?!
